Chronic Pain Relief for Tampa Whiplash Patients
Posted on 2012-02-08 07:09:08
Do you struggle with frequent headaches or migraines, chronic neck pain, or difficulty concentrating? If you are the victim of a car accident, you may have sustained a whiplash injury.Whiplash occurs when the blunt force from a crash impact “whips” the cervical spine forwards. The impact forces the neck beyond its normal range of motion, abruptly whipping it forwards and backwards. This causes the cervical spine to be misaligned, leading to chronic pain and the build-up of scar tissue. Soft tissues, including the ligaments, muscles and tendons, may also be injured – making it difficult to freely move the neck or even turn your head from side to side.
Chiropractor Helps Whiplash Injury Victims Heal Naturally
Here at Caez Chiropractic, our Tampa chiropractor, Dr. Brian Caez, and our entire wellness team believe that the best healing occurs naturally. Our treatment goal is to correct the misalignment in your cervical spine. Restoring proper alignment allows the body to repair damaged tissue and ensures that the nervous system is able to properly send and receive messages. When the neck is properly aligned, our patients enjoy long-term relief from neck pain, headaches and migraines.

Types of Sports Injuries
Posted on 2012-01-27 08:05:23
From tennis elbow to jogger’s foot, sports injuries are common among our active patients. Luckily, we are well-equipped to help you heal from knee injuries, back injuries and other sports-related injuries, and get you back into the action. While some sports injuries are unavoidable, many can be prevented. Always make sure that you warm up properly before physical activities to prevent strains, sprains and muscle tears. You should start a proper warm up by engaging in a light activity such as walking or light jogging for a few minutes. After your muscles are warmed up, stretch slowly and thoroughly. Do not overextend or bounce while stretching, as this can cause the very sort of sports injury you are trying to prevent. Other measures to avoid sports injuries include avoiding overexertion, maintaining proper hydration, and making sure that your sports equipment is in good working order.
Ways to Treat a Sports Injury
Our chiropractor can help relieve the pain of your injuries and get you on the road to recovery quickly. Our physical therapy plans help you regain strength and mobility after an injury. Massage therapy helps sooth tense muscles and relieves the pain that you can experience after a pulled muscle, strain or other sports-related injury.
In between treatments in our office, there are also things you can do at home to relieve pain and speed healing. For foot and knee injuries, keep off the affected limb as much as possible. Apply heat or ice as directed by our chiropractor. Tennis elbow is another malady that can improve through rest at home. We will also give you a series of exercises that you can do at home as part of your physical therapy to get yourself back into top condition.
